Large Grey Ambergris with a Crackled Crust
This grey ambergris with a crackled crust, large, with a white crazed surface, is genuine ambergris from my own photos at Ambergris Canada. I'm Nabil Valiulla, and I've assessed 4,678 specimens since 2004. If you've found something similar, anywhere in the world, send me photos and I'll help you identify and value it for free.

- Grey ambergris with a crackled crust
- Notes
- Large, with a white crazed surface
A large, lumpy grey piece of ambergris on a kitchen table, with avocados, red onions and a basket behind it. A thin white crust covers most of the surface and has cracked into a fine crazed network, like dried mud, showing grey and darker patches underneath. The piece rises to a rounded peak on one side and spreads wide at the base.

I post new pieces, field trips and identification tips on Instagram.

Most of what washes up is driftwood and stone. I post the pieces that aren't, and how I tell them apart.
