Black-Rimmed Ambergris with a Cracked Face
This black-rimmed ambergris, a pale cracked face, black edge, is genuine ambergris from my own photos at Ambergris Canada. I'm Nabil Valiulla, and I've assessed 4,678 specimens since 2004. If you've found something similar, anywhere in the world, send me photos and I'll help you identify and value it for free.

- Notes
- A pale cracked face, black edge
A round piece of ambergris sitting in an open brown paper bag on a fringed towel. The face toward the camera is pale cream to grey and split by deep cracks into rough segments, while a thick black rim runs around much of its edge. The contrast between the pale face and the black edge makes this one easy to recognize.

I post new pieces, field trips and identification tips on Instagram.

Most of what washes up is driftwood and stone. I post the pieces that aren't, and how I tell them apart.
