Dark Brown Ambergris with Tan Mottling
This dark brown ambergris, rounded, with tan mottling and a hollow, is genuine ambergris from my own photos at Ambergris Canada. I'm Nabil Valiulla, and I've assessed 4,678 specimens since 2004. If you've found something similar, anywhere in the world, send me photos and I'll help you identify and value it for free.

- Notes
- Rounded, with tan mottling and a hollow
A rounded, dark brown piece of ambergris resting on a crumpled blue cloth over tiles. Tan mottling covers much of its surface, a deep hollow cuts into the left side, and a few small holes show near the top. The skin looks dense and matte. Nine more photos of this piece, including close-ups of its crevices and swirls, are in the gallery.

I post new pieces, field trips and identification tips on Instagram.

Most of what washes up is driftwood and stone. I post the pieces that aren't, and how I tell them apart.
