Sorted Lot of Eleven Ambergris Pieces
This sorted lot of ambergris, eleven pieces, dark to white, is genuine ambergris from my own photos at Ambergris Canada. I'm Nabil Valiulla, and I've assessed 4,678 specimens since 2004. If you've found something similar, anywhere in the world, send me photos and I'll help you identify and value it for free.

- Eleven pieces, dark to white
Eleven pieces of ambergris laid out in rows on a tan cloth. They range from dark brown and grey to almost white, and from rounded to flat and angular, some with crusted surfaces and others smooth. Sorting a lot by colour and texture makes the differences easy to see. Eight more photos of this lot, on the scale and in a tray, are in the gallery.

I post new pieces, field trips and identification tips on Instagram.

Most of what washes up is driftwood and stone. I post the pieces that aren't, and how I tell them apart.
