Thin, Curved Tan Ambergris Fragments
These thin tan ambergris fragments, curved like broken shell, are genuine ambergris from my own photos at Ambergris Canada. I'm Nabil Valiulla, and I've assessed 4,678 specimens since 2004. If you've found something similar, anywhere in the world, send me photos and I'll help you identify and value it for free.

- Thin tan ambergris fragments
- Notes
- Curved like broken shell
Two thin, curved fragments of ambergris resting in an open palm, with green velvet behind. The larger one is long and twisted, golden tan with darker brown edges and a pale layered underside; the smaller one is a hollow, cup-like chip. Fragments like these show that ambergris can be thin and shell-like, not only rounded.

I post new pieces, field trips and identification tips on Instagram.

Most of what washes up is driftwood and stone. I post the pieces that aren't, and how I tell them apart.
