Small Purplish-Grey Ambergris in Hand
This small purplish-grey ambergris, rounded, held in sunlight, is genuine ambergris from my own photos at Ambergris Canada. I'm Nabil Valiulla, and I've assessed 4,678 specimens since 2004. If you've found something similar, anywhere in the world, send me photos and I'll help you identify and value it for free.

- Notes
- Rounded, held in sunlight
A small, rounded piece of ambergris held between fingers and thumb over a sunlit lawn, with the shadow of a fence across the grass. Its surface is a dull purplish grey with brown tones, lightly pitted, and one end is darker. Two more views, including its smooth face, are in the gallery.

I post new pieces, field trips and identification tips on Instagram.
Most of what washes up is driftwood and stone. I post the pieces that aren't, and how I tell them apart.
