Elongated White and Brown Ambergris in Hand
This white and brown ambergris, elongated, with a crackled white crust, is genuine ambergris from my own photos at Ambergris Canada. I'm Nabil Valiulla, and I've assessed 4,678 specimens since 2004. If you've found something similar, anywhere in the world, send me photos and I'll help you identify and value it for free.
- Piece
- White and brown ambergris
- Notes
- Elongated, with a crackled white crust
An elongated piece of ambergris held in an open hand over a lawn, with a black fence, a road and a parked pickup behind. A chalky white crust broken by fine cracks covers the piece, flecked all over with brown and tan, most densely at the top and bottom ends. It is longer than the palm holding it, a useful guide to its size.

I post new pieces, field trips and identification tips on Instagram.

Most of what washes up is driftwood and stone. I post the pieces that aren't, and how I tell them apart.
