Flat Dark Blue-Grey Ambergris Slab
This dark blue-grey ambergris slab, flat, with pale streaks, is genuine ambergris from my own photos at Ambergris Canada. I'm Nabil Valiulla, and I've assessed 4,678 specimens since 2004. If you've found something similar, anywhere in the world, send me photos and I'll help you identify and value it for free.
- Piece
- Dark blue-grey ambergris slab
- Notes
- Flat, with pale streaks
A flat, palm-sized slab of ambergris held up in sunlight over autumn grass and fallen leaves. Its face is dark blue-grey, streaked with pale tan and white marks that run roughly in one direction, and the edges are uneven where it has broken. The flat shape suggests it split from a larger piece.

I post new pieces, field trips and identification tips on Instagram.

Most of what washes up is driftwood and stone. I post the pieces that aren't, and how I tell them apart.
